Following García’s goal, Madrid increased the pace. 

Reactions from Di Gregorio rescued Juventus with a succession of good interventions—twice sending Valverde away and once taking an opportunity away from Bellingham on the rebound.

At the same time, Juventus’ forward threat waned against Real’s relentless harrying.

At the end of the game, Xabi Alonso introduced Kylian Mbappé for his first tournament outing after illness. He replaced experienced Luka Modrić, who came on near the end and helped seal the win

Madrid’s victory has left them unbeaten at the Club World Cup for 14 matches and sets them to face either Monterrey or Borussia Dortmund in their quarter-final.
